MHSUA’S 5TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY

On March 25th, MHSUA held its 5th general assembly with more than 85% of its members present at Bole ambassador hotel. On the day, the program coordinator of MHSUA, Ephrata gezahegn MCed the assembly. With the following schedule of the assembly, MHSUA was able to finish as per the plan.

`Assembly Schedule

Honorary member Professor Ataly Alem shared how MHSUA is filling the gaps seen in addressing mental health service users through its services with its well-intended initial plan when the organization was established in 2018.

Mrs. Eleni Misganaw- MHSUA President presented the 2022 performance report that covers the number of members joining, peer support meeting place improvement from hotels to the private program office, the stakeholder’s consultative meetings, staff recruitment, and operational document development. She also shared the national and international memberships MHSUA has joined, the research and publishing projects MHSUA was part of, and moved to the 2023 annual plan where MHSUA will be immensely working towards streaming a sustainable fund and mental health advocacy projects.

The 2022 Audit Report was presented by Mr. Habtewold Menke where It was approved unanimously by present members. After these activities and refreshment panel discussion was led by Mr. Samuel Negera and Mrs. Eleni Misganaw to answer any inquiries regarding the reports and the 2023 annual plan and receive recommendations from members on the operational activities of the annual plan.

Lastly, Dr. Yonas Bahere Tibeb closed the assembly with a speech to encourage members and staff to continue what has been done with tenacity.
